Six of the eight photographs in this series were taken in meeting rooms of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, and two were taken in other institutional buildings. The lights and the reflection caused by them are the focus of this series, while other elements in the rooms can hardly be seen. These photographs are very minimalistic, leaving out the details of the rest of the room to be completed by the viewer.

These photographs show how reality changes with the use of different exposures and computer manipulation, resulting in overly bright lights. The lights are so bright that they appear to be on the verge of blowing out. This reminds of me the notion of vanishing power. The electricity supplies the energy necessary for the lights to shine physically, while at the same time it makes possible the existence of those very buildings and rooms to exist socially.

In films, we often see the use of lights to express the moment of someone’s recovery from unconsciousness, like in a hospital, the first thing people see are blurry, powdery-white lights. Similarly, these photos also speak to me about rebirth, just like the first images a person sees after suddenly awakening from a long coma.

这八张照片其中的六张是在北京人民大会堂的会议室所拍摄，另外两张则是在学院里面，经过强光照射，眼能见到的只有吊灯以及它的影子，其他的室内细节都被强光遮盖了。

照片显示出，经过不同曝光以及电脑后置处理，人们眼见的现实也同时被改变。光强烈的程度到好似立刻就要灭掉了，感觉就像力量的逐渐流逝，电是光的供给者，也是造就公共场合不可或缺的能源。

在电影里，当人们谈及大病初癒的时候，光总是不时被提起，人们总是说看到了模糊又粉白的光源。所以对我来说，这组照片也代表了重生，是当一个人久病不起突然张开双眼时第一个看到的景象。

同时，这组照片是在视觉上是极简单的。光在这个空间内制造初的空白，就由观看者们依想像填补吧。
